Village of Alexandria Bay Seeking Projects for NY Forward Small Project Fund

   The Village of Alexandria Bay is seeking projects for its New York Forward Small Project Fund. The Village was the recipient of a New York Forward grant in 2025 that included $285,000 for the Small Project Fund. Applications may be picked up from the Village Clerk’s Office, 110 Walton Street, Alexandria Bay, NY 13607. The deadline for applications is 4:00 PM on Friday, October 9,2026.

Matching grants are available for façade enhancements, building renovations to commercial or mixed-use spaces, business assistance, and public art. Eligible businesses must be located within the approved Village of Alexandria Bay New York Forward Study Area. 

Projects funded through the Small Project Fund should advance the Village’s New York Forward vision by strengthening local businesses, diversifying retail and service offerings, supporting employment and year-round activity, and improving downtown vitality. Priority will be given to projects that foster collaboration, enhance community-serving spaces, preserve local history and architectural character, and support the long-term stability of small, independent, and locally owned businesses.

The Village has hired the Development Authority of the North Country to provide grant administration. A local review committee will score and rank projects for funding.
